Northern Laos: Nong Khiaw with children

The small town of Nong Khiaw, if slightly less peaceful than Muang Ngoy, is a great spot for vacationing families! There's no shortage of fun activities in and around Nong Khiaw. Biking, kayaking, hiking... You name it!

We particularly enjoyed the trek to the 100 waterfalls. Other highlights included walking to 2 kilometers along the relatively quiet main road to the caves (entrance fee: 5000 kips/ 0.6 USD per adult) or completing the strenuous climb (access fee: 20000 kips/ 2.5 USD per adult) to the spectacular viewpoint in less than 2 hours!
Stunning view from the summit (it's a tough climb!)

Where to stay?
We stayed in a clean and comfortable triple room at CT Guesthouse. (Triple room: 100.000 kips or about 12USD)

Where to eat?
Our children love eating Indian food. The two side-by-side Indian restaurants serve cheap and delicious meals (just ask to get for non-spicy meals). The Chennai restaurant is also a good place to have breakfast. For a sweet treat, Delilah's has a wide choice of excellent (but more expensive) western-style breakfasts. Delilah's is a great place to go to with children, as it has a selection of toys and board games for kids of all ages.
